We are thrilled to announce our recent investment in NorthStar Impact, a leading impact investment firm dedicated to directing capital to ASX-listed companies that solve social and environmental problems. 

Through the allocation of capital and engagement, NorthStar supports companies with capabilities to address global challenges, whilst employing institutional quality financial analysis and portfolio construction to generate attractive financial returns.

We invested in NorthStar due to their knowledge and experience as fund managers, their impact, and their growth potential, as they continue to develop both their Australian and Global Equities strategies.

What makes Northstar Impact a great investment?

NorthStar launched the first Australian equities impact fund in 2017 and it is the only Australian equities fund RIAA-certified as impact. As early entrants in the Impact investing space, the NorthStar Australian Equities Impact Fund has a 5-year track record. 

NorthStar understands the power of solutions-focused investing, a result of which has led them to invest in areas such as affordable housing, education, healthcare, regenerative agriculture, and renewable energy generation and storage. The Fund has gained support from ethical financial advisers, major private banks, and wealth management groups, resulting in 160% growth in funds under management in 2021. 

After starting with the Australian equities to demonstrate their impact investment process, NorthStar is now building out a global equities strategy. This will provide investors with exposure to a wider range of companies, with attractive impact, investment, and liquidity characteristics.

The firm aims to deliver financial, environmental, and social returns on every investment made by applying its specialist impact investment approach.

The NorthStar Investment team is made up of experienced professionals who are passionate about impact investing. Led by Founding Partner Kerry Series, who has over 30 years of experience in funds management, the team includes  Claudia Kwan as Senior Investment Analyst / Assistant Portfolio Manager and Michael van Niekerk as Chief Impact Officer.
